A Symphony of Diversity: Frankfurt’s Cultural Celebration Takes Center Stage
This past weekend, Frankfurt was the center of another intercultural meeting. The ninth annual “Sounds of Rainbow” festival took place at the BiKuZ Cultural Center in Frankfurt-Höchst on Saturday night, bringing with it a riot of color and rhythm. Visitors from all around the Rhine-Main region attended the event, which drew hundreds of people.
The festival, which began as a small-scale project by cultural workers, has grown to become a regular event on Frankfurt’s cultural calendar. This year’s festival had some extremely memorable moments and once again centered on music, diversity, and social harmony. The event drew almost 800 attendees.
There were vibrant scenes at the children’s art and painting competition that took place prior to the main stage program starting. Over thirty kids displayed their original artworks with the themes of “Rainbow of Cultures,” “Music,” and “Friendship.” The visitors loved these pieces, which were displayed at the hall’s entrance.

The most striking moment of the night was the performance of the famous artist from India, Master Saleem. Taking the stage with his twelve-person orchestra, the artist thrilled the audience with his energetic repertoire of Sufi, Punjabi, and Bollywood tunes. No one sat still in the hall; dance, music, and rhythm left their mark on the night.
The traditional light ceremony of the festival was held at 17:30 with the participation of distinguished guests. Among the names present at the opening were Kaweh Mansoori, Deputy Prime Minister of Hesse; Mike Josef, Mayor of Frankfurt; Manfred Ockel, Mayor of Kelsterbach; BS Mubarak, Consul General of the Republic of India, Frankfurt; Armand Zorn, Member of the German Bundestag; Kolja Müller, SPD Frankfurt Chairman; Neeraj Sharma (MLA), Indian MP; Sri Swami Upashak Ji, Spiritual Teacher from England; and Hilime Arslaner, Mayor of Frankfurt City Council.
Additionally, many representatives from the city council, business world, cultural circles and non-governmental organizations attended the festival and supported this meaningful union.
Rahul Kumar, a member of the Frankfurt City Council, and Kriti Kumar, the youngest member of the Kelsterbach City Council, who are among the initiators of the festival, expressed their delight at the great interest:
“Music and dance bring people together – we have experienced this once again. Frankfurt needs events like this where everyone comes together, regardless of whether they are immigrants or locals,” they said.
The festival was brought to life under the leadership of the KfK eV Association (Children’s Support Association) and with the contribution of many volunteers and non-governmental organizations.
