Priyanka Gandhi Powers Bharat Jodo Yatra’s Women Empowerment Message | Watch
Priyanka Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi were joined by party workers and hundreds of women from neighbouring districts of Rajasthan’s Bundi as they sought to spread a message about women’s empowerment.
Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, her husband Robert Vadra and their daughter on Monday joined brother and party MP Rahul Gandhi on one of the Rajasthan legs of the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra, when it resumed from Bundi district. The yatra had been halted briefly while Rahul and Priyanka attended the swearing in of Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu as the Himachal Pradesh chief minister after the Congress won last week’s election in the hill state.

Hailed also as the ‘nari shakti padyatra’, the Congress tweeted video clips and photos of women marching with Gandhis. One caption read ‘it’s morning… we left, matching steps with the sun. Taking good intentions in heart, came out by taking a step’.
“Today’s Rajasthan chapter of Bharat Jodo Yatra is dedicated to women’s power.”
In another video Priyanka Gandhi joins artistes performing Rajasthan’s Kalbelia dance. The caption with the 30-second video read, ‘glimpses of Kalbelia dance in cherishing cultural heritage of Rajasthan… With such wonderful colours, ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ is uniting India.”
The artistes in the video are dressed in traditional costumes – angrakhi, odhni, and a ghagra.
Twirling around, one heads towards the Vadras and invites them to join.
The Congress’ women’s wing also tweeted a video of the yatra today, showing Priyanka Gandhi marching with women by her side. “Women today are toppers… always will be!”
The ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ is on its seventh day in Rajasthan and has been active for 96 days -since the Congress began the march at Tamil Nadu’s Kanyakumari on September 7.
As per the schedule, nearly 500 km will be covered over the next 17 days in the Congress-ruled state before entering BJP-ruled Haryana on December 21.
The yatra will conclude in Jammu and Kashmir in February.
